It's possible there's good stuff in Smiling Friends but even before I knew who made the show the first episode wasn't very funny and now that I do no way in hell am I watching the Oneyplays show that recently made the rounds for directly referencing the trans woman they stalked.

People love to paint trans women as aggressors but if you actually look at what was said the most serious "threat" is that people might not watch the show!

It's very frustrating when people keep reducing the issue with Dana Terrace's response to transfem Frankie headcanons as "the trannies are mad their headcanon isn't canon" the issue is mainly the dismissiveness and blocking of trans women specifically for mild criticism of it!

It seems to me like people that were expecting a perfect 1:1 adaptation of Homestuck are more disappointed by the pilot while people that were expecting it to be its own different flavor of Homestuck are more satisfied by it

Sucks that the narrator for the Homestuck pilot is a known transphobe who has participated in the unpersoning of a trans woman and no one really cares bc people care more about Smiling Friends than trans women.

I liked the Homestuck pilot. It was very non-stop, and yes like most people the Dave is not what I envisioned his voice to be but personally I'm open to this interpretation. Also love the June foreshadowing. Looking forward to hopefully a full series and maybe a music drop plz 🥺
