05.02.2026 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Although there is a pre-rendered 3D title screen, the majority of the game's graphics appear to be pixel art, including the impressive little abstract "food" animations. The level backgrounds are made with photos/clip-art/photo editing software. Beau, if you're out there can I buy the full version?

05.02.2026 15:48 β π 64 π 22 π¬ 6 π 0BMT Micro, a payment processor that I think was used in late 2012 or very early 2013 to sell a small number of pre-orders before switching to Fastspring (maybe)
FastSpring, which I think was used in early 2013 (before being on steam) to actually host downloads of the game. It worked well, but would probably not scale because of customer support problems - refunds, etc.
RIGHT: IndieDB - a website where people followed to get news on indie games from the developers. It functioned slightly like how you can follow games for updates/news on Steam nowadays. It often tracked games' popularity against one another with rankings and it was fun to try to climb those rankings... nowadays these rankings have much higher stakes with wishlists on steam LEFT: Desura, kind of like GOG you could sell your games here. People often wanted Desura keys! After a few years of Steam being more open, Desura went defunct and bankrupt. I think they ended up owing me like $70.
BMT Micro and Fastspring were always hassles because of customer support/order fulfillment/payment options. Eventually Humble granted limited(?) access to their widget which made selling outside of Steam/GOG/Desura much easier. At the time we also took Bitcoin when it was something of a novelty (vs the scam it is now). Anodyne made decent money from its 2013 Steam launch, but it wasn't until I got a humble bundle deal with the Android port that we really made enough money to fund Even the Ocean's Very Long development
To celebrate Anodyne's 13th birthday I thought it'd be fun to go down memory lane of showing what selling games was like in early 2013, before the Age of Steam.
Desura, Fastspring, Humble Widgets, IndieDB, BMTMicro... Info in alt texts!
Remarkable: Trump's planned migrant prison camps are hitting deep resistance in red areas. In Virginia's partly rural Hanover (+26 Trump) opposition is intense. GOP leaders in other states are opposed.
Voters are rejecting mass deportations big time. 1/

ooh did this one have multiplayer?
03.02.2026 02:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really want to find the exact version of snake (pc game) that I played as a kid. It had very beautiful art (prerendered 3d? somewhat psychedelic?) and tons of cool levels where the walls formed cool patterns or drawings. Maybe it'll be on eXoWin9x..
