As a child, I remember reading this story with a strange fascination. Concentration camps and internment camps sounded eerily similar.

The 1930s were not so long ago. And now, here we are, sending people to El Salvador. Same ideas, different name. History has its eyes on us.

I’m sorry if believing a young Republican aid isn’t enough to assuage my fears when it comes to my ability to vote.

The SAVE act hurts everyone. Even the Republican women that voted for it. (And, sadly, the Democrat women who voted for it, too)

Jen Kiggans believes that because she has aligned herself with the red hat club, she will be safe. The leopards will come for her. Perhaps soon she won’t be able to talk about how she flew helicopters. Perhaps soon she won’t be able to run for office.

Jen Kiggans has forgotten her oath to uphold the Constitution. Jen Kiggans has forgotten what it means to serve. Jen Kiggans has forgotten what it means to be a military spouse.

Kiggans has had the immense privilege of serving in Hampton Roads for most of, if not ALL OF, her Navy career, due to being dual military. She has never had to worry about if her absentee ballot will be in the mail, or if it would be counted. 🧵

I spent ten minutes on the phone with an aide from Kiggans’s office this morning. He told me that he “believed” women and military spouses “should still be eligible to vote” under the SAVE act. 🧵
