Very on point piece. I have a few quibbles with it (equating sampling and other things from the past with generative models), but otherwise worth a read.

The use of generative AI in art can be an incredibly interesting and nuanced discussion. I myself have been fascinated with the subject (and written several papers on it), composers like @jenniferwalshe.bsky.social have made amazing music using systems such as dadabots' RRNs, etc. 1/2

Pickled dad is going to stay with me forever. I've seen some criticism directed towards the CGI in the show, but I thought it hit just the right spot of uncanny valley.

Re Stranger Things, it's such a drag. It could and should have been much shorter. I'm dreading the 2+ hour finale.
