I forget that so many people just don't care. They don't care who made the content, they don't care they're talking to bots, they don't care that the wildlife photos they 'oooh' and 'aaaah' at are AI, and they don't care that all of these things together create an existence made up of falsehoods.

Boy do I understand that. By default, I do not trust people. I try not to let it overtake me, but I do find myself constantly being the one to gently point out to friends or family that the article they are seriously discussing was satire or fake. But people don't like being told they're wrong...
A great deal of the comments on this post believing the lie are from older adults.
Older gens are heavily involved in social media these days. My retired parents follow YouTube channels run by other retirees. And they're not hard to find.
Social media is not just some young man's foolish game.
It may not matter really. They're technically not asking for funds and I don't think Bluesky accounts are monotized? So they may be protected under free speech. It's just a fucked up thing to post and people should recognize it's fake.
