Cross Blitz 1.0 is finally out!
We've been working on this for over 6 years. An absolutely exhaustive undertaking. I learned a lot during its development, and I'm a much stronger artist and writer because of it.
I hope its characters and world resonate with people, if even just a little.

I only ever had vague plans for these tiles. They started as something to play around with in SRPG Studio, and I've just been opening it up and chipping away at it to relax every now and then.
I still want to make a little game myself with these, though. Can't bring myself to rule it out.
I've been um-ing and ah-ing over this. Want to keep these to myself, but my current intention is to get this set feature complete and then sell it to help a little with living costs while I work on my magic tower game.
Just getting this out there so not to disappoint. ๐

Matsuno: A huge part of it is that Iโve been working with the same extremely talented designers, namely Hiroshi Minagawa (graphics chief designer) and Akihiko Yoshida (character designer). Iโve been extremely lucky to have teamed up with them. The three of us have similar taste in graphicsโฆ when we were making Ogre Battle, we studied a variety of strategy games, but the one that really caught our eye was a real-time strategy game for the Amiga called Carthage. It depicts the war between Rome and Carthage, but it felt very fresh and looked extremely cool. Minagawa, Yoshida, and myself have long been fans of Western games, and I think our work reflects that taste and gives the graphics in our games something distinct from other Japanese games.
An unexpected influence for the map design of Ogre Battle: Match of the Black Queen, one that as an Amiga gal and Psygnosis fan makes me simile.
In the Vagrant Story Ultimania guide, there's an interview with writer/director Yasumi Matsuno where he cites Amiga game Carthage as inspiration.
A couple plucky adventurers stuck in some kind of fleshy tunnel.

Yeah, removed it immediately. Iโd give them props for the ease of that if it wasnโt so obvious that itโs the sort of thing that belongs in an extension instead of in a browser by default.. So instead it feels more like swatting an annoying fly.
