In Super Mario RPG, the statues of Mario and his friends that are put up in Nimbus Castle are not real statues, and instead actual clones of them that are painted gold at runtime. They even have "found me, huh?" dialogue that is unused because they are prevented from speaking.

In the Switch version of Super Mario RPG, Mallow is bad at dancing. His dance is very slightly out of sync with the other characters, which becomes more and more noticeable the longer the player stays on the level-up screen. Whether this is deliberate or an oversight is unknown.
