I think JD Vance’s visit show his true character. A mature, thoughtful leader would keep his holiday private and not expect everyone to pander to him. Why we are letting them drive on the wrong side of the road, closing prime tourists sites, footpaths etc is a mystery to me.

Anyone would think that it was UKRAINE that unlawfully invaded Russia. Not the other way around.

And that it was Ukraine bombing flats, hospitals and civilians in Russia.

Trump is such a liar.

Every news broadcast should run the facts split-screen in real time while Trump spews his lies.

Nice work, @msnbc.com β€” every network had time to prepare because they knew what was coming.

The Cornish chough vanished in 1973.

Gone from the cliffs. Gone from the skies.

Then in 2001 – 3 returned.

Now in 2025? 300+ wild choughs call Cornwall home again.

A local legend reborn. A real-world comeback. 🐦πŸ”₯

Human connection to nature has declined 60% in 200 years, study finds Prof Miles Richardson says people risk β€˜extinction of experience’ in the natural world without new policies

β€œMore effective, are measures instilling awareness and engagement with nature in young children and families, such as forest school nurseries”. … people in Sheffield spent just four min, 36 sec/day in natural spaces. β€œIncrease that 10x, 40 minutes; may be enough” www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Why England’s new towns should look to medieval France The UK government’s taskforce is preparing to publish its next-generation proposals. Could the markets, maisons and master planning of Europe’s still thriving 13th-century towns provide the answers?

I like this. One difference, which isn’t mentioned in the piece, is that the French village will have a (surprisingly powerful) mayor and council. Whereas we think it is a good idea to have feeble local government and a mayor representing all of central southern England.

I think it's really worth noting that this concentration camp was opened one month and three days ago.

This woman saw enough horror in that time to quit and tell the public what she saw.

Which suggests that it's not as bad as we think, or as bad as we can envision from her descriptionβ€”it's worse.
