In a way it’s good that the RNLI don’t receive funding from the government as that way, they’re not susceptible to political pressure. I’m just glad that there are good people in this country who are willing and able to fund them instead.

To be fair, plenty of people warned that Johnson would be a disaster as PM, and so it proved. The character of ‘Boris’ was a confection which the compliant media was happy to promote. Just as they do with Farage and his ‘Nigel, Man of the People’ persona.
