Hikaro Kudo brought his glove to the Tokyo Dome hoping to catch a home run ball.

He ended up with Shohei Ohtani’s grand slam.

My favourite part of THE DOORS was a scene where Kilmer and Meg Ryan were on a roof or window ledge overlooking the Sunset Strip and in the background of the shot, kind of out of focus but still visible in the CinemaScope frame, was a billboard for ANOTHER 48 HRS.

There are nights when Victor Wembanyama moves through an NBA game the way Bill Murray walked past those little kids playing basketball in Rushmore.

I gotta say, the great thing about being a Pats fan is that this is far and away, like not even remotely close, the least painful Super Bowl loss they’ve ever had.

This was a spectacular piece of work by @sallyjenx.bsky.social. Was lucky to be her colleague for many years at what was once the best sports section in the country

Well, turns out this was my last story for The Washington Post, 2,011 bylines later.

For nine years, it was a dream in every sense of the word, no matter how many of the company's leaders tried to make it otherwise. Thanks for being part of the ride.

I expected the cuts would be bad but I'm honestly stunned and sickened seeing how many great journalists the Washington Post just lost. People who nailed huge investigations, documented war zones, exposed horrific crimes, dropped all at once for failures they did not cause.

It was such a joy to work in @postsports.bsky.social. Just an absolute gift. I was so so so lucky to have been a part of this place, and so so so lucky to work with these lovely, kind, clever, incredible people. This was the dream.
