Beautiful, dear Gemma and one of my favourites! β˜€οΈβ„οΈ So very detailed - the border, the people, the seasons, the flowers -the swirls and whirls. I think it is on a new level of complexity! You know I am always interested in titles/background thoughts. Does it have a working title?

Grandma Clara was sitting in her favourite armchair - the weather was dreadful but the fire delightful, her little bee wax candle was slowly dimming - just a few more drops of wax actually. Could there be a better day? Her favourite book was reread up til the final page she had left for the later evening right before sleep. Her favourite tea was sipped until the last drop- she had left for later, too. She had eaten an orange - she had embroidered her favourite handkerchiefs - she had phoned her daughter. Her granddaughter had sent her a lovely little drawing of three black kittens in a basket. It was on her fridge now. She had watered the plants, she had sweeper the path. A feeling of accomplishment had gotten hold of her.
Oh no - someone was missing - but no- relief, there he was, licking her palm, sweet Bouncy, her beloved dog. Her daughter had named him thus. She felt his warmth and feel asleep early. The page, the sip, not forgotten but to be cherished later.

With a little fright she stood up. Bouncy - he had left her ten years earlier - his remains deep in the heart of her garden. He looked deep into her eyes, wagging his tail. Ah, now she understood. She also chuckled. Samhain Eve, the perfect date to leave and take a glimpse of her loved ones once a year. She followed Bouncy, both running like in their youth.

Cats are such wonderful creatures- I see that Toonsis was and is special. πŸ–€A troubled one who found and love and rest with you. πŸ™Lovely orb apparition.

#WeekofWonders When my dear cat-friend Toonsis passed through the veil, we were devastated. He was a troubled cat, yet we loved him more than any other. We buried him in the yard; I put a cement block on his grave. This photo (I believe) shows his spirit visiting us as an orb.

Samhain Blessings for those who wish for them. Now is the time to look inward, to commune with our dearest ancestors and departed loved ones, and rest a while in the comforting arms of the Goddess.

Illustration by Abigail Larson for "The Horror Tarot" depicting a seance scene in tones of red. Hands rest on a planchette hovering over a Ouija board. There's a red curtain backdrop, and a vintage brass lamp with a red glass shade lights the scene. Small candles and a red glass water pitcher and goblet are arranged on the table.

Illustration is a stylized version of "the chariot" tarot card depicting a black horse-drawn carriage approaching an ominously glowing cliff. The horse is rears at the edge of the deep red precipice. The background shows a large tree obscured by thick mist.

An interesting angle of my last embroidery. Sometimes the last minute touches can make the piece, despite the many hours you spend stitching all those textures, those last minute footprints added that certain something… 😊πŸͺ‘πŸ‘£πŸŒΏπŸŒΊ #stitchedart #thesewingsongbird

SchΓΆrl had its Medieval origin inβ€œweed” to describe the mineral that often occurred as a byproduct in tin deposits… alternative origin from β€œZschorlau”, name of a village in the Ore Mountains, where the mineral was first described. Geologists still use the name. I like the sound πŸ˜…πŸ˜

Black tourmaline being the one I mostly use - the German local name for it is SchΓΆrl- but recently I added obsidian with a golden sheen…. Very different, yes.
