As a human he was not only dealing with the Great Depression but was also an alcoholic, so he had a hard time keeping a job and home.

He also was basically a homeless vampire and squatted in the abandoned house he was tortured in prior to his murder. XP

Devere: Yep.
Knell: She has a home but avoids it as much as she can. 😞 It's hardly a proper home for her though.
Florian: Nope.
Miriam: Was almost homeless and then almost COMMITTED until Florian swooped in and took her to his mansion. XP

Last night I went to the Puca Festival in Trim, Ireland.

I've been starting to get in the mood to work on some sort of art instead of a comic page but until I actually have a solid idea for it, sticking to comic pages. XP

OH one more detail I wanna reveal: Almost all mages deal with physical or mental "side effects", which also varies depending on their magic type. If they overexert themselves when practicing, the side effects can even be deadly. Becoming skilled tends to make side effects less common/pronounced.

Once again, how much can be done with magic varies from person to person. It can range from bordering on useless, to quite a lot (with exertion/limits), to nearly GODLIKE.

There's more to cover about magic/mages in Knell honestly but I'll leave it at that for now. XP

What magic they can control varies, usually it's one or two types only. It could be related to the elements (fire, water, air etc), life (healing & nature tend to be connected), or the most rare: death.

Many mages show some level of psychic (or "spirit") ability as well, regardless of magic type.🧵-

Daniel: Set in the 1930s. Newsreels and newspapers.

Devil's Trill: 1850s, so newspapers mainly.

Knell: Fantasy world. Word of mouth - especially from travelers, maybe some big news on town bulletin boards. Might be some newspapers starting to be a thing in big cities.

I still like the look of this old Daniel art and want to fiddle more with this faux charcoal/crayon-ish style, in all black again or color.
