This is what many of us have been saying. Part 3 of the Planning & Infrastructure Bill is based on a myth: that we don't have enough homes because wildlife and green spaces are protected. It will solve nothing, and inflict terrible harm on our remaining ecosystems

๐จ Across Europe, farmland that once echoed with birdsong and buzzing life is falling silent, poisoned by the overuse of harmful pesticides.
These chemicals contaminate soil and water, kill the insects that birds depend on, and weaken the ecosystems that make farming possible.
Despite 2 ECJ rulings confirming finch trapping is illegal Malta again allows the capture of finches, Golden Plovers & Song Thrushes under the guise of โresearchโ. We launched a tool showing authorised trapping sites. Use it to check locations & report illegal activity

Tens of millions of essentially factory farmed poultry are dumped into the countryside each year. They boost the population of mesopredators like foxes, reducing ground nesting bird populations. They are an obvious avian flue hazard. They eat declining reptiles. Turn out they're also a health hazard
