I think a combo of taking in some basics to find the things you *do* like about it ++ being gently honest with him about the fact that it isn't really your jam & that he loses you after a few minutes is probably a good middle ground.
There are some decent femme/queer creators who make some solid, brief 101 content 💖 Frankly, the game is fun, but the culture is often quite shit & has some deep-reaching toxic masc. aspects; and there is so much lore, even though I play casually, even I glaze over when people infodump.
