Today is The Engineer's anniversary! This is a shot of Gaby and her body double on the set of #Superman to celebrate!
Happy anniversary to the main man himself! Lobo didn’t just enter the comic scene – he exploded into it with his first appearance in THE OMEGA MEN #3. Written by Roger Slifer, with pencils by Keith Giffen and inks by Mike DeCarlo. See Jason Momoa become LOBO in Supergirl June 26.
Thanks so much to the Saturn Awards and the fans for honoring #Peacemaker with this award, and to Freddie and Sol for accepting this award, and especially to Jenn for this beautiful speech. 😭❤️🫎🧜♂️
He made his first appearance as Robin in DETECTIVE COMICS #38, written by Bill Finger, with pencils by Bob Kane and inks by Jerry Robinson.
Dick Grayson took tragedy, turned it into empathy, and then did a triple backflip about it. Happy anniversary to the best sidekick-turned-hero in the DC Universe.
Their legacies continue.
#Lanterns teaser tomorrow.
What can I say about John Economos… he brings a lot of “why am I here?” Portrayed by the real-life birthday boy Steve Agee (happy birthday, pal!) The first comic he ever appeared in was of course SUICIDE SQUAD #1, written by John Ostrander, with pencils by Luke McDonnell and inks by Karl Kesel.
He first appeared in SUPERMAN #4, written by Jerry Siegel, with pencils by Joe Shuster and inks by Paul Cassidy.
Happy Birthday to the ambitious and unstoppable CEO and scientist Lex Luthor, who most definitely is NOT a villain, but instead of protector of earth and humanity (he swears on a stack of Bibles). We'll see how he does working with arch-nemesis Superman in MAN OF TOMORROW, in theaters summer of 27.
He made his debut in DETECTIVE COMICS #469, written by Steve Englehart, with pencils by Walt Simonson and inks by Al Milgrom.
Happy anniversary to Doctor Phosphorus, who went from melting faces on the pages of comic books, to stealing scenes in CREATURE COMMANDOS. And yes, that radioactive charm is courtesy of the great Alan Tudyk.
When Gorilla Grodd made his comic debut, he immediately chose violence (and mind control, obviously). His first appearance was in THE FLASH #106, written by John Broome, with pencils by Carmine Infantino, and inks by Joe Giellaroome, with pencils by Carmine InfaInfantino, and inks by Joe Giella.
In the River Pi. #Superman
… and our Set Decorator Rosemary Brandenburg (who was the best actor of them, and I gave her a line). #Superman
Of the many fake talk shows we shot, the hardest to cut was this one, featuring our VFX Producer Susan Pickett, our Executive Producer Chantal Nong, our actual actor Milli M., our Production Designer Beth Mickle…
With Foxy Shazam on #Peacemaker.
Best boy alert! Keep watching #PuppyBowl to see which player wins the Krypto Superhero Play inspired by this super pup! #Supergirl lands in theaters June 26.
I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Weasel, portrayed by the one and only Sean Gunn in CREATURE COMMANDOS and THE SUICIDE SQUAD.
He growls. He spits hairballs. He’s the master of vacant expressions. Happy anniversary to Weasel, who made his first comic appearance in THE FURY OF FIRESTORM #35, written by Gerry Conway, with pencils by Rafael Kayanan and inks by Alan Kupperberg.
Out-of-this-world cuteness. Watch #PuppyBowl Sunday at 2pm ET | 11am PT on Animal Planet, and don’t miss #Supergirl in theaters June 26.
Justice Gang between set-ups. #Superman
With the great comics writers and artists who inspired #Superman!
If they really think they’re the heroes, why did they agree to be so malevolently backlit? #Superman
Happy Anniversary to one of my very favorite comics characters, Krypto, who first appeared in ADVENTURE COMICS #210 written by Otto Binder with art by Curt Swan. Krypto returns to movie screens in Supergirl this summer.
It’s called making an entrance. #Supergirl lands in theaters and IMAX June 26.
Finally.
