"If you factor in the injury time, Spurs won the last 25mins 1-0".
Christ.
Well as starts go, that's been unbelievable, and at the same time, depressingly predictable, given how this season has gone.
The only one I sometimes feel sick of hearing is Paradise City.
It threw me for a minute when I read that Ascension is their 17th album, then I thought about it, and thought "actually, yeah, of course it is."
We forget sometimes how long the bands from our youth have been around - partly because in our heads we still think we're younger than we actually are!
I love the variety of their stuff. There's something in their catalogue that hits the spot for every mood.
It's one of those albums that it's almost impossible to be objective about, because it's so familiar. Even the weaker songs, I (mostly) love, having listened to them so many times over so many years.

#15 - Paradise Lost 'Ascension'
Never got to this last year when it came out, but really wish I had.
'Serpent On The Cross' is a cracking opener, and the rest of the album has the mix of doomy bits with melodic bits that they're so good at.
Good stuff.
Ok. Cheerio, then.
Is it really a tenth tier game if there isn't some diabolical defending and some even more diabolical refereeing?
Is it 2-0 in the game they're showing on TNT as well?
If they're going to cheer every time we misplace a pass they'll have no voices left by half time
I don't mind McCoist, but "Fletch" makes me wish my (not great, tbh) hearing was even worse than it actually is, so I didn't have to listen to him.
BBC it is, tonight, then.
12 party onion bhajis...serves 12?
What kind of lunacy is this?
Exactly. If I'd wanted a glass of milk, I'd have ordered one!
Yes, I know there are bigger issues in the world right now. But if hot drinks stands at train stations aren't going to let you put your own milk in, they really need to realise that "just a splash" doesn't mean "three quarters of a pint".
If you were at work, you probably enjoyed the evening more than we did.
The worst thing about not drinking now is that when I wake up in the morning I'm going to remember all of that.
"I can't believe it's finishing like this!"
Well it couldn't have got any worse, could it?
Might be the most predictable goal of the season, that. Absolutely guaranteed.
Well. Seen better halves.
It helps that most of their b sides are better than a lot of bands' a sides!
The other is from the last tour with the "old" line up, and given that Ginger's been pretty vocal about how boring he thought the setlists were then because the others just wanted to play the same old stuff, you csn probably guess 90% of what's on it! π
Yeah one of them is from the tour when the Strike Back live album was recorded, so there are a few deep cuts on there.
Stiff Little Fingers, Proclaimers, CJ Wildheart (from when he was doing CJ & The Satellites), Ian Prowse, and a couple of Wildhearts ones.
The SLF and Proclaimers ones, I knew the lad that was the stage manager at the venue so he sorted us out with them.
Can't see Szoboszlai's hair without thinking of the story of Alex Ferguson making a player train wearing a balaclava because he'd got a perm.
One thing I've never done, the blagging my way backstage bit. Got quite a few setlists on the wall though!
Well some of those Kerrang CD song choices were a bit random. They had form for putting obscure b sides on them, that were almost impossible to find anywhere else. Sure they did it with Symposium as well.
Oh jeez, Amen. I loved them when I saw them. The girlfriend I was with at the time HATED them.
Makes it easier to sell you what you've already bought that way

#14 - Bruno Mars 'The Romantic'
The title points to what's in store here. Nowhere near as many bangers as on his previous albums, as he unleashes his inner 'Mr Loverman'.
I saw him on his last tour and it's in my top 10 gigs. I can't imagine these songs will be as bouncy live.
Definitely not. There'll be a lot of people who'll find it very difficult to get hold of the magazines they want if it goes.
