(2/2) Today I played two new TTRPGs with their designers. Both loaded with creativity & interestingly novel mechanics. A funny part IMO was that the two designers were both noticeably neurodivergent, but in quite different ways. And it got expressed so clearly in the games' mechanics! Delightful 🙂

(1/2) Are all games designed for particular cognitive styles? 😆 I think so! And I feel so pigeonholed, realizing what the games I love therefore say about me, haha. But it won't stop me from enjoying the games I like.

After a decade or so in the TTRPG hobby, today I think I had my first game session which was made momentarily, mildly unpleasant by a GM's wokeness.

So this is what the aggrieved weirdos on antiwoke gaming forums complain about. Oh the horrors. How will we get past this trivial social faux pas.

Bread made from scratch from ingredients you grew yourself? It's "ultraprocessed", because it crosses an arbitrary threshold of number of ingredients and number of processes.

"Ultraprocessed" is a bad category. A better way to categorize is by what's actually in the food, or what's missing.

Oh hey now, that's getting toward the usable range for analyzing large log files! (My particular use case at work 😁) No doubt others judge similarly, so I guess we'll see exploding usage as the price falls.

In real life I live in Texas and the USA & suffer the evils of conservatism. So it's kinda an interesting cautionary tale to peruse politics on BlueSky and see progressive mobs revelling in cruelty and every form of bad faith commentary. (But I'd take a lefty Scylla over the conservative Charybdis.)

My understanding is that the studies that showed outperformance by moderates looked at thousands of US races over the last few decades.
