The government are also ignorant or complicit in assisting large renewable energy companies obtain a monopoly by orchestrating planning.

Slowing the energy transition to net zero disadvantaging members of the public.

Certainly a story worth researching.

‘It beggars belief’: MoD sources warn Palantir’s role at heart of government is a threat to UK’s security Experts say that claims UK data remains under government ownership miss the point that the company has the capability to build its own detailed picture of the British population, and even infer state ...

NEW: Two senior MOD whistleblowers with inside knowledge of Palantir's systems have come forward to @thenerve.news to say government ministers are ignorant of the grave national security risks the technology poses.

We are a nation of 349M, yet one man decided to launch our nation into a reckless, illegal war without congressional authorization or counsel or the support of the American people. He didn’t think he had any duty to sell it or serve the people’s interests. This is why despotic rule is so dangerous.

McGowan: You're saying 46 Americans died, so we should attack this country. Here at home, 68,000 Americans die a year because they don't have health insurance. So, if we're going to spend billions of dollars on something…

Oh really 🤔

Could you afford the £300k for the EIA report which is now required. That doesn’t guarantee planning.

No one else can!

Doesn’t seem like lifting the defacto ban to me or anyone else.

Repowering is replacing old for new.

Working on the grid I know it’s easier to upgrade the grid in this fashion.

A few old turbines?

Have you any idea how much 1 large wind farm can generate?

Don’t forget to mention how the knob is also promoting fossil fuels in a fossil fuel crisis!💁🏼

The government is intentionally frustrating the speed in which we get to net zero!

Repowering the 1200 end of life smaller wind turbines to modern equivalents would be significantly quicker than building large onshore wind farms which typically contain only 10 wind turbines!

Shipping emissions are projected to soar unless we act.

Moving vessels away from fossil fuels isn’t just climate policy — it’s economic sense in a world where oil shocks hit every household.

Shame about the defacto ban which remains the white elephant in the room!

How can any individual afford the required £300k for a report on something which exists!

The lunacy on this subject is spectacular. In an energy crisis! In a climate crisis!

How can a solo wind turbine bid on a CFD? Collectively repowered they would be the biggest onshore wind farm in the UK.

Ignored and kicked into touch💁🏼

Dan they are just favouring large wind turbine projects which on face value seem obvious.

Give me details in MW of the uplift on one project!

Repowering the 1200 smaller wind turbines would add 3.6GW!

Significantly more than any of your allocation rounds.

Why is no one is challenging why we are intentionally mothballing old end of life wind turbines instead of repowering!

In an energy crisis, climate crisis and cost of living crisis.

Massive deceit by government favours large corporations.

These findings from the Climate Change Committee tell us something we already knew - Net Zero is an affordable route to a more secure, and sustainable future. Us Greens will always fight for a greener, fairer future that serves people and planet. 💚🌍

If only we could find a champion to promote repowering, to produce home grown green energy 🤔

Challenge the government into why they are only promoting large energy companies when collectively the end of life individual wind turbines would produce more green energy!

Apologies

EIA = environmental impact assessment

LPA = local planning Authority

NSiP = National significant infrastructure project.

There are no layman terms . I could message you a paper I wrote.

Essentially there is a defacto ban on wind turbines unless it’s a large wind farm!

Yet repowering the existing smaller wind turbines would add significantly more energy!

It’s corrupt to the core!

See for yourself Google any large wind farm’s capacity.

Nothing comes close to 3.6GW! Suspicious?

The government are weaponising the EIA to favour large corporations who can take the risk. The EIA costs are more or less the same for a big wind farm as a single repowering project.

The large wind farm hits NSIP levels so bypassing local planning. The decision is then for Mr Milliband!

Essentially a wind turbine over 15m hub height now requires an EIA.

An EIA can cost between £60k & £300k. Once the LPA requires an EIA it’s game over! No local farmer I know can afford to repower despite turbine being at end of life💁🏼

The existing wind turbines are already at 25m hub height!

A very large wind farm would be 20 wind turbines in the Uk and be approximately 100mw

Repowering the existing 1200 smaller windmills already connected to the grid would be equivalent to 35 very large wind farms! Massive uplift in renewables.

Actively frustrating the repowering is criminal!

It’s really not!

They are repowering large wind farms but it’s only 10 or so already large wind turbines.

The EIA is blocking single wind turbines that are end of life by way of cost.

Collectively the 1200 50 kw wind turbines repowered to 3mw would add 3.6gw. It would make a massive difference.
