I saw someone say today “I don’t want to live in a country where our disputes are decided by bullets and blood”, and I fought every urge to ask what country they thought they’d been living in.

Violence is how the US settles everything. We need to see that if we’re gonna do something different.

I think it’s interesting how it’s “political violence” when it’s a white supremacist but not when it’s hundreds of thousands of Sudanese or Palestinian people.

But y’all are still fuzzy on why fascism happens?

Pay attention. This is what you actually value.

“So what if he disagreed with you, he didn’t deserve to die”

But he thought I did.

This isn’t disagreement. It’s someone who was not only opposed to my existence but was called a good and faithful servant by the church for doing it.

I don’t have to mourn that. And asking me to is violence too.

The conversation we’re not ready to have yet is that having empathy for a white supremacist is part of what upholds white supremacy.

And by that measure alone, it fails to be empathy at all.

“Charlie Kirk was a father”

So was Eric Garner. So was Philando Castile, who was shot and killed in front of his daughter.

Being successful at procreating does not exempt you from being a white supremacist.

This isn’t hard to understand. I feel like I’m going insane.

The church is currently asking for the lord to be with Charlie Kirk, but I remember many of them calling George Floyd a drug addict despite him being an active churchgoer.

Y’all stay telling on yourselves.

The best way to honor Charlie’s memory is to continue his work: demean Black people and advocate for genocide in the name of Jesus.”

What are we doing here, y’all?

Also, possible hot take…

Knowingly marrying a n*zi makes you a n*zi too.

Knowingly marrying someone who said they’d make their ten year old daughter carry their r*pist’s baby to term makes you complicit in that harm too.

I’m not saying she deserved loss. I’m saying that empathy has limits.

It’s remarkable how few white people understand how their recent comments on Charlie Kirk look to their Black & brown friends.

Five years ago, y’all told us you were listening & learning only to humanize evil in a way we’ve had to beg to experience from you.

Black square energy is alive & well.

Happening now in America, the Gestapo has arrived.
We urge everyone who can resist, to resist.
And those who can't, stay safe through whatever means you can. Neighbors helping neighbors, it has begun.

We were seeing a 98% drop in exposure over on Twitter. The censorship was so extreme we thought it best to start over somewhere else. We chose Bluesky.

Blue Jays don’t often perch on tree trunks like nuthatches. But maybe it decided that this was the best place to enjoy a frosty sunset!

Public library energy is the best energy. Like here is all the knowledge we could find, it's been meticulously organized and vetted and it will cost you nothing today, welcome to the absolute pinnacle of human civic evolution, feel free to pull up any bean bag chair you like

You’re not violating a reading rule if you opt not to finish a book that's not resonating with you. Life is finite and we thus have a finite number of books to read. Reading shouldn’t be a chore. You needn’t feel guilty for ensuring that your time reading is spent reading things that you love.

A star cluster is shown inside a large nebula of many-coloured gas and dust. The material forms dark ridges and peaks of gas and dust surrounding the cluster, lit on the inner side, while layers of diffuse, translucent clouds blanket over them. Around and within the gas, a huge number of distant galaxies can be seen, some quite large, as well as a few stars nearer to us which are very large and bright.

This image of the Ring Nebula, taken by Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera, appears as a distorted doughnut. The nebula’s inner cavity hosts shades of blue and green, while the detailed ring transitions through shades of orange in the inner regions and pink in the outer region. The ring’s inner region has distinct filament elements. Stars litter the scene, with a particularly prominent star with 8 long spikes in the top right corner.

The image is divided horizontally by an undulating line between a cloudscape forming a nebula along the bottom portion and a comparatively clear upper portion. Speckled across both portions is a starfield, showing innumerable stars of many sizes. The smallest of these are small, distant, and faint points of light. The largest of these appear larger, closer, brighter, and more fully resolved with 8-point diffraction spikes. The upper portion of the image is blueish, and has wispy translucent cloud-like streaks rising from the nebula below. The orangish cloudy formation in the bottom half varies in density and ranges from translucent to opaque. The stars vary in color, the majority of which, have a blue or orange hue. The cloud-like structure of the nebula contains ridges, peaks, and valleys – an appearance very similar to a mountain range. Three long diffraction spikes from the top right edge of the image suggest the presence of a large star just out of view.

Cassiopeia A, a circular cloud of gas and dust with complex structure. The inner shell is made of bright pink and orange filaments studded with clumps and knots. Around the exterior of the inner shell, particularly at the upper right, there are curtains of wispy gas that look like campfire smoke. The white smoke-like material also appears to fill the cavity of the inner shell, featuring structures shaped like large bubbles. Around and within the nebula, there are various stars seen as points of blue and white light. Outside the nebula, there are also clumps of yellow dust, with a particularly large clump at the bottom right corner that appears to have very detailed striations.

WTF is going on here at Blue Sky? People are civil to each other. People having intelligent discussions. People are spelling things correctly. I haven’t seen any racism or sexism.

I’m confused.
