Hey Iβm endorsing @mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social today for US Senate in Michigan. Iβve worked with her for years to keep our kids safe from gun violence. Iβve seen her fight up close - and itβs exactly what we need right now to take on Trump and his corporate allies.
23.01.2026 15:38 β π 747 π 141 π¬ 31 π 9I haven't been back from Texas for 24 hours, and there's 3 new reminders why we shouldn't fund DHS without reforms to force them to obey the law.
1. The arrest of little Liam Ramos
2. More brutal treatment of protesters in Minnesota
3. ICE claiming the power to enter our homes
A growing police state. A reason for Democrats to seriously ask whether we should fund this or not.
22.01.2026 15:24 β π 582 π 140 π¬ 164 π 13This week in San Antonio I met two traumatized young boys who were locked up for 6 weeks at Trumpβs βbaby prisonβ in Texas. Taken when they checked in for a routine hearing, their mother waiting in the car with their backpacks for school.
Itβs insane this is happening.
I spent the morning at the San Antonio immigration court. Itβs out of control.
Crawling with ICE - arresting legal immigrants showing up for court appearances.
I asked one officer who they are prioritizing. His answer: everyone.
I need to share with you what I saw.
I just spent the morning at the immigration court in San Antonio. What I saw was insane. The blatant, systemic violation of the law. Iβm going live on @instagram at @senchrismurphy in a few minutes to tell you about what I saw.
21.01.2026 17:56 β π 1100 π 258 π¬ 44 π 10Just showed up at the San Antonio immigration court. Iβm here as an observer. People are coming here for their required appearances; people following the law.
Itβs 8:15am and the place is already swarming with armed ICE officers, waiting to arrest peaceful, legal immigrants.
I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.
I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.
Another death in an ICE detention facility. A growing, unsurprising, tragic epidemic.

If you want to know why your wages are shitty and health care is too expensive and your kidsβ school is falling apart - thatβs why.
Democrats have no obligation to support a bill that not only funds the dystopian scenes we are seeing in Minneapolis but will allow DHS to replicate that playbook of brutality in cities all over this country.
20.01.2026 21:26 β π 3249 π 727 π¬ 231 π 95I understand Dems in these negotiations had a hard job β no new budget for DHS is going to cure all the illegality happening within the department. But the bill doesnβt return CBP agents to the border where they belong and doesnβt put checks on ICEβs out of control arrest and enforcement operations.
20.01.2026 21:26 β π 1048 π 125 π¬ 24 π 5My statement on funding DHS:
The proposed Appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security released today puts no meaningful constraints on the growing lawlessness of ICE, and increases funding for detention over the last Appropriations bill passed in 2024.
I am on my way to get access to ICEβs Dilley Detention Center in south Texas. To do my job of oversight. I have been told I am going to be illegally refused entry, but Iβm going anyway. We canβt let them hide.

Trump is terrorizing our communities with a campaign of inhumane un-American ICE brutality - and he's paying for it by raising health premiums on 20 million Americans.
Effective because it's π― true.
I made this video so we can talk about what ICE is actually doing in our cities. I have the details and you need to hear them. Please share this.
ICE isn't targeting criminals or even people here illegally. They are just making up the law - every day. Here's what's going on.
I went to CBP this week - joined by hundreds of loyal Americans - to tell the true story of America. That our nation's foundational strength is our commitment to immigration. And that Trump is telling us we should fear our immigrant neighbors, simply to hide his corruption.
15.01.2026 23:33 β π 649 π 176 π¬ 15 π 2A group of Senators met with the Foreign Minsters of Denmark and Greenland and it was so maddening.
People in our country are losing their health care, facing price hikes on everything - and Trump is prepping an invasion of Greenland.
Here's what I learned in the meeting.

ICE should leave Minneapolis. Period. Stop.

15.01.2026 15:55 β π 315 π 29 π¬ 12 π 013/ Money matters. But when all of experience becomes monetized...when virtue and character and connection get crowded out....and the only measure of what matters is the cash value of the outcome - a spiritual cost comes with it.
14.01.2026 22:59 β π 340 π 35 π¬ 22 π 012/ This gives us a clue as to what life will feel like when we go to a game not for the rush of a win in the presence of friends and like-minded fans, but to follow a bet.
Or care about a war not because of empathy for the humans impacted, but because there's money on the line.
11/ For nearly 100 years, Harvard has been tracking thousands of citizens, figuring out which lives lead to happiness and which to emptiness.
And their finding is simple. Careers and money don't lead to happiness. Connection, friendship, and camaraderie do.
10/ But more foundationally, what does it feel like to live in a world where everything is a commodity? Where experiences have no inherent value, just a relation to a price?
For the answer, we need a little help from the longest study of human happiness in our nation's history.
9/ Media companies are making money too. CNN has a lucrative partnership with Kalshi, but it's wildly corrupt. See this scenario on how news coverage starts to be influenced by betting markets and vice versa. Facts be damned.
