Actor and comedian Brian Murphy dies aged 92 Brian Murphy was best known for his role in the 1970s sitcoms Man About The House and George And Mildred.

Sad news. As a youngster visiting London in 1980, I spotted a rather forlorn looking Brian Murphy on his own. That evening we found out on the news that Yootha Joyce had died. Glad we didn’t ask for an autograph that day. He wasn’t cool, but so well known.
