It's a prototype, we don't even have a cover yet . Once we've got that I'll start the month long slog of getting it on BGG

Proof of my participation in GAMA Expo (just in case any events require me to provide said evidence) (not that anything happened) (...but if they did...)

@gamingthepast.bsky.social For our next discussion (if either of us can remember it): How would the game potentially model a false retreat?

Wasn't really feigning, got some bad rolls, so need space to hold him at bay.

Another playtest @gamingthepast.bsky.social for True Command Ancients. Much discussion over how to properly disengage while in contact.

The Empire is stretching its tendrils across the galaxy, looking for the hidden Rebel base. We need to prepare to flee, as they are 1 system away from Dantooine... SW Rebellion solo.

Going old school tonight. Jumped into a quiet DZ, long movements in the woods, only contact was at the OBJ. Mission complete, but sadly lost SGT Wolfenden due to a GSW. Hung out at the PB until extraction. 10 enemy KIA. Gotta write up the AAR and letter to Wolfenden's family. Hellcat 6 out.

Got a playtest for War of Giants yesterday. Extremely close game all the way thru, with both sides making gambits to take a big lead, but dice and good game play returned the score to the center

Work on the game shop above is proceeding well, but it means no power where I run fulfilment. So I'm working on orders using a flashlight (or torch if you prefer). Feels like I'm in a bunker in Kyiv worried about the next Shaheed raid

However, safe COAs are EXACTLY what the enemy/OPFOR expects, and have planned for, and the result was almost always a BLUFOR defeat. 2/2

I'm going to go out on a limb (not too far out I don't think) and state it was pretty clear during MDMP who had played wargames before and who didn't. The easy, "safe" COAs came from folks w/o wargaming experience. 1/2

Hopefully the result of COA Dev wasn't "heh diddle-diddle, let's go up the middle" which seemed to be a popular answer for too many S3s.

Also weird to see officers at CGSC w/o right shoulder patches, but I guess that's a good thing too.

First time I played TS was on a short exercise in Germany, using a bunk as a table, and somebody put their coffee cup on the board, leaving a permanent reminder of the trip.

I've gotten destroyed many times as the coalition at this stage of the game, so I'll take it!

Yes, most of the mechanics seem to be working pretty good. But the designer is working on a solo system, our primary effort now

Its totally COIN, just not GMT's version. A Conflict of Wills game, which started with Judean Hammer.
