Perhaps not too impressive for now but this shows Giraffe (F#) running on the BEAM (Erlang Runtime) using Fable (WIP) #fablecompiler #fsharp

In the coming weeks I'm giving the tactical DDD training twice. And something struck me while preparing: with agentic AI becoming more capable, Domain-Driven Design isn't becoming less relevant. For complex problems, it's becoming a necessity.

An ode to "slowly" handcrafted code

When I open my social media feeds, it's obvious: the age of writing code with our fingers is ending. LLMs can write code much faster.

But was it ever about the speed of code creation? I think not.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

7 Reasons F# Sucks Date: 2025-06-18 | build | create | csharp | fsharp | tech |

Strong, expressive types removes the need for many kinds of parameterized tests.

Instead the compiler works as the test - if it doesn't conform to the definition, the code won't even compile.

Reason #5 F# sucks: Your buggy code won't even compile

Code
From a 2015 BlackHat presentation

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. - Brian Kernighan

People with ADHD may have an underappreciated advantage: Hypercuriosity ADHD is officially a disorder of deficits in attention, behavior and focus. But patients point out upsides, like curiosity. Research is now catching up.

In 1980 the road is open to cars, is wide and has cars parked on it. Today there are rising bollards preventing driving on this street and all car parking removed, replaced by outdoor seating outside a pub

“Look Ma’ no hands!”

It’s interesting how much audience (in our industry) are getting people showing that’s the best/only way to ride a bicycle.

For some it is, but they usually have big red noses.

For other trying to follow that advice, the next step is tho

„Look Ma’ no teeth!”
