I think of weird as in weird fiction — strange new monsters, unfamiliar landscapes, not firmly rooted in one genre. But also, sometimes just weird as in bizarre 😅

Ah I understand. We were playing Kids on Bikes, so the characters were much simpler

We actually play multiple characters simultaneously— you don’t wait for them to die.

In my first home game campaign I ran, I printed off all the monster stat blocks and whoever dealt the killing blow got to tear up or otherwise destroy that piece of paper. They got CREATIVE by the end!

Eat minis is the natural evolution 😌

Honestly, I feel like even easy autistic accommodations are often ignored, even when requested — like punctuality, clear and direct communication, notice of scheduling changes, limiting of buzzing or audio distortions, things like that

I say this as someone who has gone through periods where I felt so negatively about the creation side of things I lost joy in the hobby all together — and taking a month off (several times) and starting a home game is what allowed me to rediscover that love 💕

Being so real, I have much, much more to say about mushrooms 😅

since they’re alphabetical in the book, finding the page from just the name is pretty easy — I’d still prefer page number, though

It’s in Appendix B, under Giants. You still have to check elsewhere for the page number, which isn’t ideal, but they are grouped by type.

Counter point: that charisma is the talent. It’s as much a part of the show as any performance skills or game-proficiency.

I have a few games that use a play through transcript in the book! I think the new D&D books do this too.
