We were fortunate to speak with Dolly and Ron Sanford last June about Dolly's activism here in Nashville ahead of the historical marker dedication for Warehouse 28. We hold Dolly's family and friends in our hearts during this time.

Dolly continued his activism after his move to Punta Cana, creating safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in the Dominican Republic.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Michael "Dolly” Wilson. Dolly was one of the founders of Warehouse 28, one of Nashville's iconic LGBTQ+ landmarks. Dolly and Steve Smith created a safe space in Nashville with Warehouse 28 and spearheaded the fight against the AIDS epidemic.
