Women's sports stars have a lengthy history of using their platforms to advocate for their communities.
This weekend was no different as Breanna Stewart & others shared messages denouncing ICE after the killing of Alex Pretti.

I really hope the people who run WaPo don't do something as obviously dumb as getting rid of their sports section, which is among the very best in the country (and I'm sure draws a lot of traffic and engagement for them).

The Liberty announce a preseason game at home against the Indiana Fever for Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. ET. This will be the first preseason game for both teams.
But, there currently still isn’t a CBA as teams operate in status quo following the release of the 2026 regular season schedule.
Breanna Stewart: "We're so fueled by hate right now instead of love, so I wanted to have a simple message of 'Abolish ICE,' which means having policies to uplift families and communities instead of fueling fear & violence."

“The Testament of Ann Lee” has been called “feminine filmmaking.” Amanda Seyfried discusses why that approach was central to making the movie. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

Was it too strange? Maybe. It's something that a film about a relatively unknown woman in history who led a movement which was unprecedented for women at the time was shut out.
Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride has suffered a torn quad muscle while playing overseas for the Fenerbahçe women's basketball team.
Something to monitor as her recovery timeline could run into WNBA training camp or the start of the season.

Sharif is not politically active, but in 2024, some campaigners came to her shop and told her that Trump would be good for business and against the LGBTQ agenda. “I was immediately hooked,” she said. She voted Republican for the first time. Now, chagrined, she said, “I never thought the man I put in office would come for my family, make me financially struggle and cause me so much fear that I carry my passport when I go to the bathroom,” she said, pointing at the mall’s bathrooms. “I feel as though the weapon I built is coming to kill me and my people,” she said.
