the series has an identity crisis, and doesn't even know what it wants to be. FF7 Remake is a trainwreck, from a narrative perspective.

I have. I hear legends of how good the story is, but you have to make it through 300 hours of content before getting to the "good" stuff, and I can't bring myself to do it, based on how not fun I found the MMO gameplay loop.

I haven't been back to the game since, but I genuinely loved 100 percenting that game.

I have tried so many times to like Vagrant Story. I genuinely love the story, but I cannot stand the gameplay. Even looking up guides, it never made any sense to me; I may be too stupid for their intentions.

That's actually the one I liked least. I obvi respect your opinion, but everything about that 13 universe never hit right. It felt like the Star Wars Prequels, that I never necessarily liked either.
