At 89 years of age Margaretta ran for the Local Elections in 2024 in Galway, with βmad, bad and dangerousβ being one of her campaign slogans. She was a great friend of the Women's Collective Limerick and Clare Projects and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. π

Last month, we received news of the sad loss of Margaretta D'Arcy. Margaretta was a feminist, artist, writer and lifelong activist & advocate for Peace and Justice. Best known for her opposition to the militarization of Shannon Airport and her participation in protests supporting Palestinian rights.

We stand with ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services Limerick to demand an end to digital violence. Every woman and girl deserves safety β online and elsewhere in their livesβ.
