The real exception is “if a player had a worse than 33% win rate, they are considered 33% for OMW%”
so I got 2nd on breakers despite my net opponents winning one more game than the guy who got 2nd, because one of his opponents had 0 wins X’D

I got to learn something about how magic tournaments work though! A rare opportunity.
I spent the last 10 years under the impression OMW% was calculated mostly straight up with an exception for people who drop, who were given a 33% winrate for their missed rounds.

And thats not the real exception!

I played against gruul delirium, was very responsible with my hands g1 mulling bad ones to a decent 5 that lost, mulling terrible hands game 2 to a strong 5 that won
and then game 3 on the draw went “yeah my hand is slow but it had both lands and spells and mulling is so sad”

I just unironically had a 7 hour testing session with some friends that mostly involved “lets try to beat valerie when she plays cauldron” and I won 8 straight matches against mono red/dimir/simic mid

and I still wanna play more magic… the villain deck is so fun…

Bad news I went 3-6
Good news the deck is hella fun so no way I was going to drop early. Definitely some deck building to work on… some consistency issues and the difference in quality between your good draws and mid draws is painful
