James Ferguson, professor of anthropology and former department chair, dies at 65 James โ€œJimโ€ Ferguson played a pivotal roles in the department's history and will be remembered for his remarkable character, kindness and contributions to the field.

Jim Ferguson was so, so amazing and wonderful, and I'm so sad that he has died. He was a guiding light. What a tremendous loss. We are all worse off without him. Rest in peace. stanforddaily.com/2025/02/19/j...

Dean! Hope you're doing well, my friend. It's kind of a few decades old, but I've taught stuff by Diane Rocheleau before, and it's really good (e.g., "Maps, Numbers, Text, and Context: Mixing Methods in Feminist Political Ecology").

Hey #Plath friends, you gotta come check out this exhibit at Smith College focused on Plath's botanical inspirations for her bell jar metaphor! It's up all year, and I will give you a personal tour. It's beautiful and you get to walk around a plant conservatory.
