You mean like complicity in record breaking funding in ICE and genocide?
03.12.2025 18:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0People keep saying one single issue for one group of people when there were clearly multiple reasonings for my decision and I've explained them through this thread and idk how to explain to people that not giving AF about Gaza DOES effect the whole world
03.12.2025 16:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hardware is initially what drove these distinctions (Genesis limited color palette, SNES audio samples, CD FMVs and audio on PS1, blurry N64 textures and cartridges) and it naturally transformed into people associating brand names with a type of experience
03.12.2025 10:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0even third parties realized this. There was a bad stigma associated with being a Nintendo kid and I missed out on a lot of cool stuff because third parties tried to fit into those molds too. But for the most part everything's on everything now unless you're really big into Nintendo exclusives
03.12.2025 09:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Definitely, I think it was a little more organic at first (maybe not Nintendo vs SEGA) and by 6th gen you really see brand loyalty rise until it hit its peak in 7th gen. Nintendo realized this and went all in. You could tell a lot about gaming habits based on someone's primary console for a while
03.12.2025 09:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I know this is a discussion about libraries in general but I've been sitting on this thought for a while lol
03.12.2025 09:24 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Around PS2 they still had a spread but they took a more "mature" path and carved a more... idk if mainstream is the word, but a gritty aesthetic that matches their wider audience. Microsoft tried a mix of both and then realized dudebro was the move. SEGA was always the most underground/punk
03.12.2025 09:22 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0You nailed it. I think a big part of Nintendo's appeal is that the brand has an aesthetic cohesion much like Disney characters where they can coexist in things like SSB. Whereas Sony was trying all kinds of things in the PS1 era and I will always consider those IPs strictly PS1 mascots in a way.
03.12.2025 09:18 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Playing Banjo-Kazooie was the first time I'd ever been immersed in a 3D world to that degree despite some gameplay flaws. I don't think I had another experience where discovery was as novel and exciting until I played Dark Souls
03.12.2025 09:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0DK64 and a lot of B-T were the only ones that are so incredibly overindulgent that I have no desire to play them again. JFG and Blast Corps are pretty memorable and outside of the norm though. None of them are terrible and they were prolific as Nintendo. First party & RARE make up most good N64 ๐ฎs
03.12.2025 09:05 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't think RARE could do wrong back then. Their catalog was as good and memorable as the other first party stuff.
03.12.2025 08:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think CRTs are retro chic and hipsterized in a way they weren't, say, 10 years ago. I think it's a social media effect where this stuff gets commoditized and it spawns some superficial fans.
03.12.2025 08:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Personally I don't know much about the donors, I will look into them. At first glance I don't have a problem with a billionaire heir putting their money towards a true progressive someone like Mamdani and a foundation that's given over $1bil to activist groups.
03.12.2025 03:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Is it really that hard to get someone to battle Trump with an ounce of personality and a spine?
03.12.2025 03:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not my point. Who was the last Zohran and at the scale of NYC without major corporate donors?
03.12.2025 03:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0People should look at Zohran's success as an example of a politician that is both charismatic and true to his character, and it CAN work, if people really get behind them.
03.12.2025 02:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I that we should advocate and not have this defeatist attitude that it's impossible for a third party to ever be viable. But it is difficult and more difficult all the time. There are certainly Dems that I respect but it sure wasn't Harris & Biden or any of the Presidents since at least before Reagn
03.12.2025 02:30 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0And why didn't they? I understand it's because they were Republican. Who put them there? Because it sure as fuck wasn't me and I've been told my how life that if I vote Dems instead of recognizing the grift and advocating for a third party, we do this Red vs. Blue shit that divides Leftists like so
03.12.2025 02:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Total cowardice. Flap those gums buddy. We lived just fine before the boats of imperialism cruised into this godforsaken country. Go fuck yourself. Evil is evil. You're digging your own grave in the name of comfort and conformity. You will receive no further responses.
02.12.2025 23:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Actually it was Stein. Sorry to break it to you. The propaganda did numbers on you.
02.12.2025 22:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We should DEMAND better than the lesser of two evils. I'm for revolution. The status quo brought us to this point.
02.12.2025 22:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Disgusting. It's not a "genocide" it's a genocide. Gaza has been wiped off the map. Begone with you.
02.12.2025 22:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Of course they were? Why does that mean I should believe Harris, a cop that was complicit in record funding for ICE, and was complicit in genocide?
02.12.2025 22:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What does "unwavering commitment" mean to you?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iigx...
I don't find allyship or believe in genocidaires. That's where we differ.
02.12.2025 22:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1The world is bigger than Americans and their foreign interests. They all are complicit in war crimes. There is no evidence to support the claim that she would have been any better for Palestine, that's totally incongruent with her actions. I don't want any innocents to die. Done trying to convince.
02.12.2025 22:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0On election day did you vote for someone that promised unwavering support for Israel, or not?
02.12.2025 22:34 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Projection. I didn't vote for genocide.
02.12.2025 22:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Again, explain your position. Because all I saw was Biden's unconditional support for Israel and Kamala promising the same thing. No one made them say that.
