#fabtcg, we need a serious talk

I've spent ~2 months trying to appeal a wrongful suspension & investigate why it happened. I've found the judge program obtuse & inaccessible to engage. Even worse, it harbors & empowers bad actors

Lets go step by step through my timeline

For the past year, I've been trying to come up with a better way to classify #fabtcg decks. I think I've finalized the 3 axes that can describe most decks, but am I missing anything? 🤔

I really love the new lagiacrus fight in #MHW. It captures the monster's fight really well, and the underwater section is such a fun callback to MH tri.

But did you really have to blight my brain with the pronunciation lagi-AK-rus!?

Did you digitally change it? Because sharpies can't create gradients like that. This looks very AI made.

I don't think I know anyone in my area who would be willing to throw away a chance to qualify for a pro tour, just so a friend can. Especially since ELO qualification is being removed. (1/2)

If those people exist it's a much smaller pool of people than the ones that regularly get top 8s in multiple pro-quest events.

There's probably a better solution to this, or a middle ground. Maybe previous pro-quest winners can just be barred from top 8, but can still compete in swiss. (2/2)

Because win collusion is unfortunately a thing. It's not uncommon for people in my area who win early pro-quests to play in a bunch more and pick favorites by strategically conceding games to friends, especially if they make it into the top 8 again. it can happen many times a season.

Hi, yes, this video is 1h36min long, but that's not what makes it interesting! I spent a year falling asleep thinking about what I want to say next. I spent weeks and weeks in my office surrounded by writing debris. I ached over this. It's got some juice.

I recently started watching Scavenger's Reign again and it does not disappoint on a second viewing. It's stunningly beautiful, the biology is imaginative and alien, and the storytelling is both subtle and human.

Overall such a worthwhile watch and I can't recommend it enough.
