Carr doesn't realize he is basically saying public stations would need commercial advertisements to stay alive if not for federal dollars. If congress cuts federal funds, are they really ready to unleash that many additional commercial stations on a saturated industry? Would Repubs stand for that?

The problem Chairman Carr probably doesn't realize he is introducing in this process is the conclusion that public stations would be unable to exist without federal funding except through selling advertising. Do they really want hundreds of additional commercial broadcasters added to the market?
