Gaza prepares for another difficult winter despite the ceasefire
With their homes reduced to rubble, many Palestinians in Gaza remain displaced in tents that pose significant hazards as winter approaches
“Before the war, when I heard the rain, I used to lie in bed feeling warm & happy. Now, when it rains, I jump up to check the tent, to make sure the water isn’t coming in.”
With their homes reduced to rubble, many Palestinians in Gaza prepare for another difficult winter, Esraa Abo Qamar reports.

How dangerous is it really to work for ICE?
According to ICE’s own data, none of its officers have been killed by an immigrant in the agency’s history.
Trump claims ICE agents are in constant danger. The data tells another story. Records show that none of ICE’s agents have ever been killed by an immigrant in the agency’s more than two-decade history.
Instead, the leading cause of death by far among ICE officers is COVID-19.

California has recently relocated beavers from spots where they were causing problems, like flooding, to tribal lands in Northern and Southern California.
Experts caution that while beavers can help with fire resilience and improve water quality, they are only part of broader solutions.
