I realize that we are in a war right now and there are far more serious things going on in the world but this is the funniest school email I’ve received in my decade+ of parenting and I can’t stop laughing

Watching Alysa Liu win gold by being no one but herself and doing it for the sheer joy of the sport with my own aspiring figure skater was truly moving.

Sydney (7) said “She’s my mentor!” I think she meant role model, but all the same. What an amazing athlete and person we are all lucky to watch.

It’s a fun fact that people don’t know: you’re actually an excellent figure skater.

Also the most deceiving part of this pic is that I must have been standing on a very large step because I’m not nearly this tall IRL.

We used to go away for Valentine’s Day (or at least out to dinner!) Now we just travel to multiple states for different kids’ sport tournaments.
