A black and white photograph of a factory - relevant to the article theme of how hematopoietic stem cells follow production lines to make our differentiated blood cells.
Text: 'Published this week', 'Ciència Oberta - Divulgació científica en català, meaning Open Science - disseminating science in Catalan', 'La fàbrica de la sang: La Medul·la Òssia - translated to The Blood Factory: The Bone Marrow'. Photograph of article author Júlia Viladevall.
An image depicting the comparison and similarity of a production chain in a furniture factory to the production of differentiated blood cells (erythrocytes, platelets and neutrophils) from hematopoietic stem cells.
Text: 'Júlia Viladevall from the Laurenti Lab at CSCI has made understanding bone marrow easy!'

🦴 Our bones house a factory that never sleeps - bone marrow!
