This wouldn't be at all surprising. Also, I've figured out that Borowitz is like The Onion.

As I brought Benny Beagle a glob of yogurt for his dessert, and this spoiled beagle trotted happily to his bowl โ€” secure that something tasty was coming his way, and that he deserved it โ€” it occurred to me how much joy it brings to have given one little rescue beagle a better life.

Poem title: At the Intersection

The poem is divided into two overlapping circles.

The left-hand circle is titled โ€˜meโ€™ and the text reads:
the day we
went out to have
an ice-cream, we said nothing
just let our silence melt in
the air as we walked across the common
our love never tiring at all

The right-hand circle is titled โ€˜youโ€™ and the text reads:
we should
have talked it over but
nothing ever seems to get
in your fat head. You are so
common that I wish weโ€™d never met
at all and Iโ€™d married Tim instead

In the intersection of the poem (where the two circles overlap), the text reads:
we
have
nothing

The mathematician John Venn was born on this day in 1834. To commemorate the occasion, hereโ€™s a poem in the form of a Venn diagram.

Iโ€™m sorry but I really have to stand up for myself and independent media here. Everyone is crediting Ken Delanian for the Maxwell sex offender waiver story, but I was hours ahead of him. Hours. Independent media is important.

When the cryptocurrency entrepreneur Eric Schiermeyer heard that President Trump was holding small group dinners with major donors, he saw opportunity.
Mr. Schiermeyer reached out to a lobbyist with connections in Mr. Trumpโ€™s orbit, who arranged for him to attend a dinner with the president at his private Mar-a-Lago club on March 1 in exchange for donations to a pro-Trump PAC called MAGA Inc. totaling $1 million.
The personal and corporate donations were among dozens of seven- and eight-figure contributions to MAGA Inc. from crypto and other interests revealed in a campaign finance filing on Thursday night that hinted at the access Mr. Trump accords those willing to pay.

Cryptocurrency interests, which have benefited from the Trump administrationโ€™s dismantling of a yearslong government crackdown and from the Trump familyโ€™s financial interest in the industry, appear to have been the most generous industry, accounting for nearly $45 million in donations to MAGA Inc.An affiliate of the exchange Crypto.com gave $10 million, while the crypto services company Blockchain.com donated $5 million. The venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, who are heavily invested in crypto, gave $3 million each. Ondo Finance, which has a partnership with the Trump familyโ€™s crypto company, donated $2.1 million to MAGA Inc., on top of $1 million to Mr. Trumpโ€™s inauguration.

The scale of Trump's pay-for-access scheme outlined by the @nytimes.com is mindblowing. Crypto contributions resulting in business deals with the Trump family crypto businesses, oil companies buying influence and later reaping benefits from friendly policies, and a $1 million pardon.

Those "concerned parents" outside "migrant hotels" remind me a lot of the paedophile mob panic created by the News of the World's "name and shame" campaign in 2000.

Same idiots. Same press. Same mentality.

At dinner tonight (our favorite local Mexican restaurant) my 6yo boldly shouted "muchos gracias!" at our server as he left the table. The man turned back, smiling, and said "de nada!"

"Wow buddy!" I said.

"What? I speak Spanish, and I speak Michigan" he said, nonchalantly.

Ken Paxton is great because he's never not testing the limits of human reasoning. He's a pioneer in stupidity. He's like an astronaut for the completely spaced program. You've never seen someone more dedicated to being openly moronic without a shred of charm to show for it.

Sus. This is the woman who wanted to dance in the sunshine by exposing her colleagues' sexual harassment reports over Matt Gaetz and then was fine with it all. I do not trust her words. She's backing up for a run up to something despicable. She's no friend to human beings or animals.

โ€˜They roll right overโ€™: Many Democrats call their party weak and ineffective, AP-NORC poll finds A poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that many Democrats see their political party as โ€œweakโ€ or โ€œineffective.โ€

This shouldnโ€™t be surprising. The only way to fight back is toโ€ฆ actually fight back.

If Democrats want to improve their approval rating (or far more importantly, make actual change), we need real leadership to put up real resistance to authoritarianism.
