I write comic books. Hi!
You're right on this one. (I hate that we live in a world where the fact that there is such realistic looking AI out there-- with other things-- that it's making me question everything.)
29.01.2026 19:16 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In a world where this administration has repeatedly posted and reposted AI altered photographs and memes, this doesn't feel like an extraordinary claim.
29.01.2026 15:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0But can it also be true that people can recreate real world events that *did* happen as new AI videos where they can alter what appears to be those original events?
29.01.2026 15:08 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm asking because people are showing places where you can pause and things like logos on cars disappear, where Pretti's head stretches in odd AI ways, and where part of the headlight appears to vanish as well.
29.01.2026 15:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'm not asking if it was AI generated. I'm asking if it might have been AI augmented.
29.01.2026 13:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Is there any chance that the video that has been going around as been AI augmented?

Exhibit 1: Tom Homan is accused of being bribed with a bag filled with $50K.
Exhibit 2: Tom Homan is being sent to Minneapolis.
Exhibit 3: The signing bonus to become an ICE agent is $50K.
Dude, it's all right there. Tom Homan's going to be an ICE agent.
The math checks out.
Just a few hours after celebrating Sal B's birthday, I got the news that Sal has passed away. An enormous loss for our industry and for all of us who knew and worked with him. Safe journeys, Sal. We'll miss you.

Sal Buscema, a veteran comics artist and part of the famed Buscema family of Marvel artists, has passed away. He was 89 years old when he died on Friday, and the news broke today, on what would have been his 90th birthday.
Incroyable!

As kids we grew up reading comics with our favorite heroes fighting Nazis, fascists and evil corporate billionaires.
This is in our blood.

She is who and what she is.
She can neither be more nor less than that.
She is entropy.
She is our end.
She is the force that has existed, exists, and will exist till the end of time, where it is her place to both bring about and witness this reality's final moment.
This is going to sound granular, but I'd call her form the Marvel Comics term that Mark Gruenwald would call it: Her M-Body.

Alex Pretti was already restrained when federal agents shot and killed him in Minneapolis, a New York Times analysis of video shows. The footage contradicts the Department of Homeland Securityโs account of the shooting.
25.01.2026 16:55 โ ๐ 2893 ๐ 941 ๐ฌ 155 ๐ 86Sorry for posting this, because it's disturbing, but it is important that we can all see this crucial moment. There is no disputing this order of events:
Pretti was disarmed (of the holstered weapon that he had a permit to carry).
And THEN he was murdered by ICE.
WOW! How did he not burst into flames the second he said that?
25.01.2026 15:18 โ ๐ 44 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0It's still a lie though. They didn't shoot an armed protestor. They disarmed Pretti and THEN they shot him. They shot a man who was not armed.
25.01.2026 14:41 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 3 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0How can you not feel for his parents at this time?
Their son was a good man and this administration is trying to vilify him. We should all be grateful to the brave people who kept filming what took place, from multiple angles, so that all of us could be witnesses to what actually happened.
A reminder to the news media: โconflicting accountsโ is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
25.01.2026 12:28 โ ๐ 47219 ๐ 14209 ๐ฌ 524 ๐ 602The videos clearly show that Pretti was disarmed when the ICE agents shot him. Try again. Dear New York Post writer who wrote this intellectually dishonest headline, however much Rupert Murdoch pays you, it can't be worth your soul.
25.01.2026 14:13 โ ๐ 26 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hopefully, around a month (or earlier) B4 the book goes on sale. And we find mistakes all the time-- from everyone, like words I left out of a script, or tails from balloons going to the wrong characters, or something that's colored wrong. We're human. It happens a lot. But that's why we go over it.

There's a faster, easier, and more honest way to say that, @nytimes.com.
Try again.
