Branches of a Joshua tree with a panicle bloom sticking out from the end of one.

Our Joshua trees have started blooming! 🌿

And, no, you cannot have this in your arrangement! Not only are they precious to our community and fans worldwide, they are protected by the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act. More info on WJTCA: wildlife.ca.gov

A yellow teacup and saucer with mimosa flowers extending out of the cup and spilling out onto the saucer and table.

A cascade of yellow in this thrifted Fiestaware cup and saucer with mimosa (non-native but California grown).

An ikebana arrangement placed on a grand piano. The piece features desert native plants including bladderpod flowers, an Indian blanket bloom, and tall desert willow branches.

This ikebana created for a wedding brunch was made entirely of desert #NativePlants: Washingtonia filifera, Cleomella arborea, Nicotiana obtusifolia, Larrea tridentata, Senna covesii, Simmondsia chinensis, Justicia californica, Gaillardia pulchella, Yucca schidigera, & Chilopsis linearis. 🌿🌱

A newlywed couple stands together. The bride is holding her bouquet which includes gerbera daisies, butterfly ranunculus, dahlias, calla Lillies, delphinium, orchids, fourwing salt bush, and hanging amaranth.

With bright blooms, bold textures, & a little desert magic, this sculptural bouquet was designed to reflect the whimsy of wildflowers, the romance of the day, & the desert landscape.

Love Hole-in-the-sand! Beautiful flowers but also a pungent scent if you disturb it.

Details of a long centerpiece made from desert native plants. It sits on a tabletop in a low white vase. The background has windows that reflect palm trees.

An all-desert native plant arrangement created for a special celebration brunch in Palm Springs. At least 14 different desert plants were used! 🌱🌿

This looks like really hard work. I appreciate Maria and the hard workers who take care of us and make our lives easier.

Visited a new (to me) native plant nursery today. What makes them awesome? They grow the plants on site, everything is labeled, clear pricing, open to the public, and the owner actually knows her plants! Bonus: a friendly dog that insists you pet her.

A green wreath made with fir branches and eucalyptus leaves and seeds. A few dried Cleveland Sage flowers adorn the bottom of the wreath.

This is one of my favorite wreaths I made for last weekend’s pop-up.

A boutonniere with an orange rose, huckleberry, succulents, seeded eucalyptus, waxflower, and a single hydrangea bloom.

Not everyone loves designing boutonnieres, but I really like making these miniature versions of bouquets. They’re delicate, and every selection and placement is intentional.

A ceramic elephant vase with its trunk pointing upward. A single, large marigold is held in the trunk and pops out of its "nostrils."

This cute elephant bud vase was part of a group of animal vases the couple’s longtime family friend collected. We filled them with a variety of California grown flowers and desert native plants.

A hand holding a large bouquet against a pale pink-peach wall. The bouquet has a mixture of large flowers, greens, tiny delicate flowers, and different greens, delphinium. bunnytails, and Eryngium thistle popping out from the bouquet.
