We are looking at a large room with several oak posts down the centre of the room. The floor is stone flagged with a row of deep set windows in a stone wall - light from those casts light on the floor. In the distance is a screen to a chapel.

You are building a guild hall in 1357.

What materials are you going to need?

60 trees from Bolton Percy for 27s. 6d., 100 oaks from Thorpe Underwood for £21, 14 tons of stone from Tadcaster and 20,000 bricks for £6 from the Carmelite Friars of York.

That should keep you going!

Close up of a stone bat sculpture. Both wings outstretched and a big grin on its face. Dark in colour Stone walls and tiled Portuguese houses photographed from below. In centre there is a large gothic arched window with two lights. The bat sculptures are on the capital on the column dividing the two lights. There's no glass as it opens onto the cathdral cloister. Probably dates from the renovations of the early 20th century, although the cloister is originally 14th century. Bright blue sky above and to right Close up of same window with a bat in the centre capital.

Happy Halloween from Leeds IMS - and from the friendly bats on this cloister window from Lisbon cathdral #medievalsky #gothicarchitecture #sedelisboa #bat #Halloween
