In light of all the #TikTok ban going around, I would really like more people to consider why net neutrality is so important. This is just the start of legislation that will set precedent for the future of tech. It’s important that we are part of these conversations & we understand how tech works.

Give me 20-30 minutes between meetings, I’ll utilize the time for some of the most triumphant results. Give me 15 and under, it takes me 7-10 to plan how to start & then there’s only 5 min left so why start?

Which raises many questions:
Is this something about the way tech has always existed for this generation?
Do they not understand the larger picture?
Do privacy concerns hinder progress?
At that age range, their data seems insignificant?

When I was teaching HS prior to the pandemic. I would start out discussion questions about social media & terms of service agreements, etc. the students were usually wide eyed & responsive. Post pandemic, I posed similar questions & they said they didn’t care about privacy & had nothing to hide. 👁️ ❓

I have a Toshiba laptop I can’t find the charger for that has files from a podcast me & some friends did after college. I won’t throw it out bc I know it’s on there. I need a cord. I never think of it until I see it. If Amazon workers weren’t on strike your post would have inspired me to get one.

I’m shifting my focus this month to focus on Privacy. We only train and compliance data people & workers on security training & best practices but what about our privacy?

I wish I could do this. What a time. However, back then I bought the value computers I could afford. Overworked them and needed a new one every year to year & a half bc they died. I didn’t have a hard drive worth keeping until I was grown & graduated.
