Had high hopes for this movie but in the end felt it was a bit meh.

I don't know about you but out of all companies and government entities I've ever dealt with, Amazon is by far the most persistent and aggressive.

Also, the ESP32 WiFi module on the top of the Flipper Zero is not needed for the hack. I just simply didn't remove it when filming. Flipper's internal Sub-GHz tool and the custom firmware are all that's needed. Makes the attack very concealable (as seen below).

All these modern wireless key systems are garbage and it's because device manufacturers refuse to create an industry working group to make the platforms interoperable and more secure without licensing fees

Regulate insecure proprietary wireless protocols on Part 18 ISM spectrum, not wireless tools

Why this is new: Hackers previously would have to both capture an unlock signal & block it from reaching a car w/ a signal jammer. Even then, the captured signal would only work once cuz of rolling codes.

This attack gives you repeated access to all fob buttons after 1 capture, no jamming needed.

There was a serial-lock on the custom firmware, but a group of hackers were able to remove it and are sharing it among security researchers, which is how I got a copy.
