I've been watching "Tehran", coincidentally, on Apple. It's a thriller about Mossad agents working in Iran. The most disgusting thing about the Iranian leadership, in the show, is how they lead lives of privilege with utter contempt for the mores they expect the rest of the country to live by.

There are arguably three or more reasons she lost. But certainly the fact that she couldn't articulate a string message of change was a major one.

I think that makes her a fine person and she would have been, obviously, an infinitely better President than Trump. But I don't think she was a fine candidate at all. She was just our only choice at that point.

OP claimed Harris was a fine candidate. She was definitely a better person than Trump, like almost anyone else, but she was not a fine candidate. Being unable to distance herself from Biden was a huge liability.

She would have been seen as disloyal is she did that. Maybe a very clever politician would have figured out a way around this, but she couldn't. And after Biden's prolonged delay in stepping back, she was the only choice. So we ended up with a not-great candidate. But she still almost won.
