Go well Catrin! A bird that as you say, used to breed in wisteria on my aunties Dartmoor farm. So hard to find them now. The association with wetlands is interesting and hopefully my work on @nationaltrust.org.uk Killerton estate (where they’re hanging on), will bear fruit as we create more wetland

Couldn’t believe what I was reading in the latest Devon Bird Report- in 1973 there were 27 singing males in my local Stoke Woods Exeter. Now it’s a struggle to find even 1 spot fly ☹️

A tricky start to my @btoengland.bsky.social #BBS in Devon with a brisk wind making listening difficult. A smart male redstart was the best (rare on this patch), but no willow/garden warbler nor whitethroat or swallow - a rather depressing trend. One plus - skylark prob breeding in herbal ley 💚

Highlights of a #lowcarbonbirding cycle to @rspbengland.bsky.social Exminster marshes was a spoonbill going to roost, a group of curlew and whimbrel coming off the estuary at high tide, close enough for two leg tags to be read on former.
