Low carbon birding, singing, moths, rugby, cricket, nature, all that jazz. Devon. UK.
Hoping a #butterfly expert from the #Switzerland area can help me ID this rather worn blue. Centovalli near Locarno, Ticino. About 500m. Meadow.

@norfolknats.bsky.social .A long overdue first visit to the Fens of Norfolk produced 3 lifetime firsts within an hour of arriving at Strumpshaw Fen. What a great few days away despite a poor forecast that meant inverts were calmer and easier to observe
:-). Lots more besides
Although actually I think these are red admiral caterpillars ?

The association with wetlands is interesting and hopefully my work on @nationaltrust.org.uk Killerton estate (where theyโre hanging on), will bear fruit as we create more wetland

A smart male redstart was the best (rare on this patch), but no willow/garden warbler nor whitethroat or swallow - a rather depressing trend. One plus - skylark prob breeding in herbal ley ๐
