I think everyone processes these situations in different ways.
I feel that emotional distance. My parents are lovely people, but they struggled at being parents. When they pass I'll be sad, but I suspect the most sad thing for me will be how little my life changes.

The act makes reference to specific technologies like "email" and "GIF" which have no place in law.
Not because we shouldn't try to legislate around technology, but because that is the wrong level of abstraction.
It would be like banning verbal abuse unless it was said in Latin.
If you are in the UK petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72.... Even if you agree with the stated intentions of the act, the implementation is an embarrassment. Parliament should be ashamed of enacting this in the first place

It's a great idea to fill out these surveys. Even when it seems like the feedback should be obvious to all concerned. Fur cons are run by volunteers and their time is precious. The surveys give those managing that effort a good signal on where they should spend that limited time.

But it's still pretty frustrating
I really doubt they intended to wind me up so much. It's folly to attribute to malice that which can be attributed to inattention (and I've definitely been guilty of inattention when reviewing this sort of stuff myself).
