Speaking of interesting reads, I first learned about the Scopes trial through the fictionalized account in the 1955 play, "Inherit the Wind." The title is from a particular Bible verse -

"He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind..."
Proverbs 11:29

Also, I hadn't read Chapman's book yet so I appreciate the recommendation!
