just to end, in no world is it acceptable to threaten anyone for any reason. Critical feedback to the company is fine, as long as it is constructive. with details. Anything else is pointless, hissyfits and waste of energy for anyone.
Anonymity and no risk of consequences is Internets bane.

And it does feel like the devs were getting "this is a hit" messages from a small group of people and it enforced their own view, without testing on a larger and better sample group.

I know Geoff surely did and he probably enjoyed it as he said, but you need lots of diverse groups of players to test your game...... even if you want to keep it secret. Please have others outside your "zone" test it. but from the people I know who have tested it, very few, VERY few, enjoyed it.

and also out of place as the headline ending of the show. Anyway, I didn't think more of it other than I didn't feel like it was gonna be a hit. but what do I know.
I'm wondering what kind of groups outside the company they got to play it?

I normally don't comment on games online at all.
And actually talking shit to devs or games not even out yet is just stupid. I will say that when I saw the game reveal at games award, it struck me as game the game, very meh, nothing striking, nothing stand out. it felt dull.
