I met with S4B Housing Association recently to see some of their fantastic regeneration of Brunswick Village Extra Care right here in my constituency!
I also had the chance to raise concerns constituents have with their housing provider to ensure everyone has a safe place to live.
Was happy to bump into volunteers fundraising for Marie Curie and helping them to care for people in their last days of life.
Productive meeting with members of the University of Manchester's Student Union - we discussed student loan repayments and the cost of living for students.

Our asylum system must always make sure that young refugees can learn, build relationships, and plan for their futures.
I asked the Minister for Asylum to reassure us that the Home Secretary is committed to creating stability for unaccompanied children, some of the most vulnerable asylum seekers.

Especially after the recent events at this very mosque, it was great to see our community coming together to enjoy time with each other.
I want to explain exactly why we needed a definition of anti-Muslim hostility. I've fought hard for this for nearly a decade and I know that this will help us tackle the hatred Muslims face.🌹☪️

The annexation of land in the State of Palestine is illegal. It's a moral failure not to stand against it.
I signed a letter to demand sanctions on illegal settlers in the West Bank, to impose trade bans on settlers and for transparency over the UK's response to the unlawfulness of the occupation.
Thanks to our Labour councillors - libraries in my constituency are staying open longer with some being open 7 days a week!
This is because our Labour councillors passed a historic £1 billion budget - only possible thanks to our Labour Government's massive investment in local councils.
I hosted a meeting for Parliamentarians with Ambassadors from nine Arab countries about the concerning situation in the Middle East.
We need to return to diplomatic negotiations between Iran, the US and Israel, end hostilities, and push for a two-state solution in Palestine and Israel for peace.

It is wrong to stop people fleeing war and persecution from having the ability to come to the UK legally and claim asylum. The Home Office's proposals punish vulnerable populations and are using these communities as scapegoats.
I have written to the Home Secretary to outline my deep concerns.
Labour-run Manchester City Council has passed a historic budget - the first over £1 billion thanks to fairer funding from this Labour Government.
That's millions to fund projects you care about: looking after our parks, cleaning up our streets, and regenerating our buildings and roads.
I'm at the United Nations in Geneva learning more about the UN's convention on refugees.
The Home Office's plan to only allow refugees temporary statuses undermines our commitment to their safety, and the historic role of the UK in creating the convention.
Manchester is a proud city of sanctuary.
