The bread is toasted, just not very darkly. New toaster oven. First time using it. It had also already taken me 2 hours to make this because I had to dig through numerous boxes to find everything I needed.

I actually experimented with Niki (short for Nikita) when I first came out. I took it from the Elton John song, “Nikita”. I had serious lust-envy for Anya Major as Nikita in the music video when it came out in 1985. It’s also a gender neutral name. It just never quite felt like it fit me, however.
I kept the same initials. Jamie is the gender neutral version of my previous first name. I chose Delaney because it started with the same letter, had very similar meaning (though of Irish origin rather than Scottish like the original), and rolled off the tongue well. Jamie Delaney L. JDL. (⬇️)

I closed on my new home yesterday morning and I moved in today!

It has an electric heat pump for central heat and air, and a simple wood-burning fire place for backup heat. I’ll probably keep the thermostat fairly low in the winter and use the fireplace a lot. Every room also has a ceiling fan so I can avoid setting the AC low in the summer.
