(I still always Keep a Well, nearby with Water, which suits the viscosity of the ink & aids in the application)

I think the brush quality has improved a bit in its construction, and there is a finer tip available these days. There is probably a fine hair line the Raph can pull that will be a challenge with the Pentel, but for the vast majority of cases, it's technique and pressure; very viable artificial tip

I still use the Raphael, but they've become difficult to acquire, and the famous pentel brush that Master Kim used has become easy to use and obtain for me, so much more in that regard these days. I certainly miss being able to qualify my own inks though, so I haven't completely moved to plastic
